Location: 90 Amhurst Road, E8 1JH

Description: 'The Pembury Tavern' - a grand looking pub in deepest Hackney - has been owned by the excellent Milton Brewery since 2006.

It's a real ale enthusiast's favourite with a great selection of Milton produce, plus ciders and continental bottled beers. Inside, its a big space with lots of hard wood surfaces.

Personal touches are appearing though and beer mats festoon the walls from the guest ales which have featured in their worthwhile mini-festivals.

Bar Billiards and pool are also good to see and the kitchen serves up some hearty pub grub. A good one for the area.
