Parliament Hill Park, But Why?
Named after the Gunpowder Plotters, Guy Fawkes & Robert Catesby
Location: Parliament Hill, NW3
Description: Between Highgate and Hampstead lies the green space Parliament Hill park, but how has this lovely spot come to be known by the famous London landmark 'Parliament'? Especially seeing as it's quite a few miles from the Houses of Parliament.
Well according to legend it was the spot where the 'Gunpowder Plotters' Guy Fawkes and Robert Catesby where planning to watch the destruction of the historic site on 5 November 1605.
But of course this vantage location was never to be.
