TOUR OF THE MONTH
ON THIS DAY IN LONDON
22nd May 1963 A C Milan wins 8th Europe Cup 1 at London
22nd May 1950 Richard Strauss' 4 Last Songs (4 letzte Lieder) in London
The old gin palace bought by Lock Stock actor Jason Flemyng.
Location: 101 Battersea Park Road, London, SW8 4DS
Description: This hairy-arsed boozer has been revamped into quite something since it lost the 'of York' from it's name.
It's part owned by Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor Jason Flemyng. Formerly called the Duchess of York, which boasts a balcony with stunning views of the power station, Flemyng can't contain his excitement at having bought into the pub.
I've always lived in Battersea and always had a dream of being a pub landlord, said the actor, who has also been in Snatch and Layer Cake. It's a shitty old pub that nobody used to drink in but we've poshed it up and it looks great now.
