The Lady Well Spring

The Lady Well Spring

This is where the old eye-helping Lady Well Spring used to be.

Location: 148 Ladywell Road, Ladywell, Lewisham

Description: Here was a mineral spring, with the usual claims to medicinal powers (this one was supposed to help those with poor eyesight), was indirectly the victim of suburb development as it ran dry after the construction of a sewer in the late 19th century.
