Description: This historic (refurbished in late 2007) Victorian pub is famous for its remarkable 19th century interior by WB Simpson. It is owned by the Samuel Smith Brewery of Tadcaster in Yorkshire, and as such has a good variety of ales on offer.
The building was erected in 1872 and is Grade II listed. Its whole interior including the ornate gentleman's toilets are well worth a visit!
Princess Louise was The Duchess of Argyll (18 March 1848 3 December 1939), and was Queen Victoria's sixth child and fourth daughter.
