Description: Actress Honor Blackman was born here on August 22nd 1925. She went to school locally before her father's birthday present when she was 15 set her on her way to stardom. He bouight her acting lessons at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
She is best known for her role of Cathy Gale in sixties TV series The Avengers and as legendary James Bond girl Pussy Galore in 1964 film Goldfinger.
She is also famous for her role as the vengeful goddess Hera in the Ray Harryhausen, Charles H. Schneer, production of Jason and the Argonauts.
She also had great success with a novelty single with Patrick Macnee during 1964, Kinky Boots. It reached number 5 in the UK charts in 1990.
