This was the scene of the Balcombe Street IRA siege of 1975.

Location: 21 Balcombe St, Marylebone, London, NW1 6HE

Description: This little street just off Baker Street found itself in 1975 at the epicentre of the famous Balcombe Street Siege in which four armed IRA bombers held an old couple hostage for six days.

They were spotted and chased through the West End before leaving the car and running down Balcombe Street. The siege was actually centred on flat 22b.
