Statue of Gandhi
A meditative statue of Indian religious leader Mahatma Gandhi.
Location: Tavistock Square, Bloomsbury, London
Description: At the centre of Tavistock Square is a serene statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The statue has been in the park since 1968 and was designed by Fredda Brilliant.
The park also contains trees planted to commemorate the victims of the Hiroshima bombing and a Conscientious Objectors' memorial.
The Gandhi represented here is a seated figure, ponderous and meditative, perfect for this great Peace Park.

1» Hello,
Passing though the park I was intrigued to see that white tulips were being strategically planted in the soil...white tulips with no bulbs. That is no roots, just the stem with leaves and the flower... madeleine (Anonymous)
