Matinee With A Difference
'Intimate Review' - the shortest West End theatre production.
Location: Duchess Theatre, Catherine Street, WC2B 5LA
Description: It was at this very theatre in 1930 that a record was set that still stands to this very day.
Indeed the ambitious 'Intimate Review' was to be the shortest run of any West End theatre production.
What was meant to be a succession of witty scenes descended into chaos when the scene changes took up to 20 minutes. In order to get the finale on before midnight, the management decided to scrap seven scenes...it didn't open the following night!
Luckily at that time no Reality/Talent shows were involved...the sponsors would have been going mad!
