Famous old coaching inn once lived in by a young John Harvard.

Location: 105 Borough High Street, Southwark

Description: Todays its a legal office but once this was the Queens Head Inn, a famous galleried coaching tavern.

It was once owned by the Harvard family including the father of John Harvard, founder of Harvard University in the USA. John lived and grew up here hence the plaque outside today.

It was once the Cross Keys and records show ale being served from 1460 on this site.

Today it's all long demolished, closing in the 1880's. View the plaques on the front and Queens Head Yard down the side.
