Description: For nearly 800 years, the Tower of London has seen royalty, noblemen and Spies meet a grisly death.

Right up to the Second World War, executions, beheadings and hangings have drawn crowds to the Tower and various sites nearby.

Of those unfortunate enough to have ended their days in the 'Tower', 'William Lord of Hastings' probably set the ball rolling... In 1483, he was the first recorded execution at the Tower, and why, well...Richard III had him killed for allegedly plotting against him. Charming!
