Location: 49 Florence Street, Islington , N1 2DU

After his retirement Jack Burke, also known as The Irish Lad, became landlord here in November 1895 leaving the following year. He started as a bare knuckle fighter on Hackney Marshes but went on to win the English Middleweight and claimed the World Middleweight title too as well as a record (but unqualified) 517 bouts!
